My spooky people, I’m here to save the day. I know Halloween plans are getting kinda effed, but I found the answer. This AirBNB in WakeForest is HAUNTED. Truly it’s a no from me, I am such a big baby, but I know someone will love this.
The haunted description listed is: A note of CAUTION for the faint-hearted. Several friends, family, and guests have experienced supernatural events here including: footsteps in the hallway or upstairs, the hall and basement lights turning on randomly, a shadowy figure in the kitchen and dining room, glowing orbs in the living room, and even a music box that has played by itself. Nothing unusual has ever occurred in our guest bedroom, and none of the incidents have ever been malevolent in nature. We just accept that it is what it is, and continue on with our lives. Ask me for a haunted tour of the house if you’re interested.
It’s $64 a night, 1 bedroom, 2 beds and 1.5 bath with a 4.94 star rating…I just hope the ghosts stay 6 feet away.

Nash Square in downtown Raleigh has a new permanent resident! The Office of Raleigh Arts and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is behind this public art instillation.
Artist Corey Lancaster was commissioned by the City of Raleigh to carve the newest Nash Square squirrel from a 90 foot willow large oak that was removed from the park in 2019. Often referred to as the Berkeley Oak, the 85 inch tree was thought to be about 120 years old, but age and disease were starting to cause the tree to lose limbs during storms. The tree was known as being the widest tree in downtown Raleigh and for how its roots came over the sidewalk on Martin Street, where it stood opposite The Berkeley Café.

Raleigh’s Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin has issued a CITYWIDE curfew from Raleigh on Friday & Saturday nights running from 10pm-5am. ABC 11 reports the curfew was issued in response to planned social justice demonstration.
“By setting a curfew, it is my hope that we can allow those assembled the opportunity to exercise their right to free speech in a peaceful way, without violence or destruction from opportunists who don’t share the goals of peaceful protesters,” Baldwin said in a news release.
