Meet Jolanda, a spirited 1-year-old female dog bursting with energy and ready for a good time! She’s excited for walks and may jump up when being leashed, but with a little patience, she calms down. While she may bark at some dogs on the way outside, she quickly settles and will walk well on the leash. After she releases some of her energy, she becomes a more relaxed walker, making her an excellent jogging partner or match for an active person or family.
Jolanda isn’t highly treat-motivated, though she takes treats gently, especially if they’re the “high-value” kind. She’s more interested in sniffing and exploring than in cuddles, though once she’s comfortable, she’ll come over to say hello. This lively girl is a lot of fun, full of enthusiasm, and could benefit from a little additional training.
During playgroups, Jolanda was more low-key than anticipated. She was respectful and fun; she was even-tempered and enjoyed interacting with others. She was witnessed to perhaps exhibit some resource guarding with the water bowl during play sessions, so feeding separately from other pets and keeping multiple water bowls around the home may be important. Playing with toys around other pets should also be monitored.
If you’re interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at [email protected] with the subject line “Jolanda 253442”.
She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
