Kino is our longest resident at the Animal Center, and a volunteer favorite. He has been in our care for over 200 days! Let us find him a home!
Kino is a wonderful 7-year-old male dog with a wealth of knowledge and a heart full of love. His unique wrinkles on his face magnifies his smile and gives him a very studious look. He’s mastered many commands including sit, down, and paw. Kino is potty trained as he keeps his kennel clean without fail. During doggie playgroups, it was determined that he would need to be in a home without any other dogs.
Being the longest resident at the Animal Center, our volunteers love to give him a break from the hustle and bustle of shelter life. During these outings, volunteers say that he is perfect in the car – quiet and relaxed. During walks in the park, he is an excellent leash walker. He may show some reactivity to other dogs or show interest in wildlife, but he is able to be redirected so that the walk can continue. He enjoys hiking and relaxing on a blanket after. He is looking for his new adventure buddy! Is it you??
This sweet and gentle boy adores belly rubs and has a soft spot for treats, which he takes ever so gently. He’s patient too – happy to sit and wait for treats while watching cars go by. Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $450 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.

He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
