We’ve all said it by now, “the holidays are going to look very different this year.” But no worries! There will still be a handful of Halloween events and pumpkin patch farms for you and your family to enjoy!
Of course, things will operate differently, such as newer safety protocols, fewer hayrides, and updated hours. Here is a list of current places and events that are still scheduled to operate this fall season:
- Gillis Hill Farm (Fayetteville, NC): Enjoy a self-guided tour around the farm for free when you purchase ice cream!
- Ice cream available 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday
- Gross Farms (Sanford, NC): Opening Sept. 26. Includes a 15-acre corn maze, giant jumping pillow, two-lane, 40′ slide known as Tom’s Tunnel, pumpkin patch, and hayrides. All tickets must be purchased online before arriving.
- Hubb’s Corn Maze (Clinton, NC): Corn mazes, giant slides, toddler town, train, jump pillow, air cannon, and large sandbox opening Sept. 26.
- Phillips Farms (Cary, NC): Corn maze, corn cannon, pumpkin launcher, tube swing, hay mountain, big slide, and more. There will also be a haunted maze in the evenings.
- General admission for ages 3 and up is $12
- Downtown Clayton Trick or Treat (Clayton, NC): Costumed kids ages 12 and under can load up on goodies from participating Clayton merchants from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 30
- Carrboro’s Halloween Carnival (Carrboro, NC): Instead of the usual Halloween Carnival, Carrboro will be hosting a Halloween Prize PickUp where kids are encouraged to stop by the Carrboro Town Commons for a small prize bag.
- 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 30
- Clayton Fear Farm (Clayton, NC): With family-fun during the day, and bringing screams at night, the Clayton Fear Farm will be operating their seven haunted attractions for select weekends in October.
- Darkside Haunted Estates (Middlesex, NC): An eery haunted house will be opening on Sept. 26 for some Halloween fun!
- $20 for adults, $12 for kids 12 and under.
- Porter Farms and Nursery (Willow Springs, NC): Farmstand, pumpkins, and homemade ice cream.
- 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays; noon to 9 p.m., Sundays; and 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays through Halloween
- Raleigh Farmers Market (Raleigh, NC): Large farmers market with lots of pumpkins, apples, and other fall fares. Great for a pumpkin photo opportunity!
- 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday
- Trick or Treat Downtown Scavenger Hunt (Fuquay-Varina, NC): Some Halloween-themed activities are planned for downtown starting mid-October. Check the Facebook event page for more information!
- Boo at the Zoo (Asheboro, NC): The annual event will Oct. 24-25, and will include some trick-or-treating stations, live music, and more.
- $5 per person plus the cost of general admission.
- Pumpkin Patch Express (Durham, NC): A Halloween train ride at the Museum of Life and Science, along with special games, crafts, and more. New safety measures have been added due to the pandemic.
- Oct. 3 to Oct. 4; Oct. 10 to Oct. 11, Oct. 17 to Oct. 18, and Oct. 24 to Oct. 25.
- $15 per person. Visitors also will need to purchase a ticket for admission to the museum
- Deans Farm Market (Wilson, NC): The farm offers hayrides, a playground, picnic areas, and more on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Odom Farming Co. Maze (Goldsboro, NC): “We’re a family farm hosting fall activities including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, punkin’ chunkin’, hayrides, educational farm tours and more.”
- Passes run between $6 and $12 per person. Opens Sept. 26
- Ragan and Holly’s Pumpkin Patch (Apex, NC): Large selection of gourds and pumpkins, plus corn stalks and other fall decorating items.
- Haunted Forest of Panic Point (Youngsville, NC): They have haunted attractions that are suitable for both older and younger audiences.
- Tickets start at about $27
- Huckleberry Trail Farm (Siler City, NC): Huck and Tom’s Corn Maze Adventure and Hay Ride, a bonafide pumpkin patch, a cotton patch, and a family farmyard filled with old-timey games.
- $8 to $10 opening Sept. 26
- Granville Haunt Farm and Corn Maze (Oxford, NC): A haunted drive-thru
- $10 to $60, depending on how many people are in the vehicle. Opening Oct. 9
- Naylor Family Farm and Corn Maze (Fuquay-Varina, NC): Corn maze, gem mining, jump pad, farm animals, pumpkin patch, hayrides, corn crib play barn, farm tower fort, barrel train, and more.
- $18 per person for a farm pass, kids 2 and under are free with a paying adult. Open now
- Page Farms (Raleigh, NC): Pick your own pumpkin, corn maze, hayride, corn crib, haystack slide, cow train, farm animals, and more.
- $15. Kids 2 and under are free. Opening Sept. 25
- Tractors Corn Maze (Wake Forest, NC): A corn maze, pumpkins, and other fall attractions.
- Day hours are Oct. 3 to Nov. 1. The corn maze after dark is open from Sept. 19 to Oct. 24.
