She took all of them in herself, what an incredible person!
As Hurricane Dorian barreled towards the Bahamas, Chella Phillips knew that there were many homeless dogs that needed help during the storm, so she did something extraordinary.
She opened her home to 97 dogs, giving them shelter and keeping them safe. 79 of them shared her master bedroom with her.
Voiceless Dogs of Nassau, Bahamas, said Phillips is a “one-woman band,” caring for more than 200 homeless dogs every year with little assistance. For 15 years, she’s nursed them back to health and rehoused them in the US.
Phillips said in a Facebook post Monday that her home had flooded, but all 97 dogs were doing well.
