Not the beer, save the beer!
Beer’s main ingredient, Barley, is at risk.
Barley is sensitive to extreme drought and heat, and a research study finds climate change will have a direct effect on those crops, causing a global beer shortage.
“The aim of the study is not to encourage people to drink more today,” said Dabo Guan, a co-author of the study. “if you don’t want that to happen — if you still want a few pints of beer — then the only way to do it is to mitigate climate change,” Guan said. “We have to all work together to mitigate climate change.”
