Wilmington became a second home for many of the stars of One Tree Hill and Dawson’s Creek
The actresses who played Haley, Brooke and Peyton in “One Tree Hill” – Bethany Joy Lenz, Sophia Bush and Hillary Burton – have come together to ask people to help “Wilmywood.”
The group has started a Crowdrise campaign for the #CapeFearlessChallenge raising money to support Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts:
“Join the women of One Tree Hill and Random Acts to help the people of North Carolina affected by Hurricane Florence.
Wilmington is the kind of town where Everyone Knows What You Did Last Summer. A place where you quickly become a regular at coffee shops on the Cape Fear. It has been home to all of us. The local families who live there, crews and casts of shows who’ve made it their homes, and the incredible fans who have traveled East Bound for decades to see their favorite Creeks and Ravens Basketball courts. It’s been home to Fire-starters and Empires of Records. Where we’ve all dreamt of our futures in a Notebook or two. It’s provided the backdrop where many of us have found ourselves represented. Where we’ve screamed at scares and cried for love. Whatever it is that’s made Wilmington into your beloved Everytown, your real or imagined home, the folks there need our help. And in the surrounding cities too. From Morehead to the Outer Banks. Hurricane Florence has left devastation in its wake, and it’ll take serious time and resources to repair. “
In addition to donating money, you can also buy a To North Carolina with Love tee shirt.
They’ve asked other celebrities who were in One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek or any of the other 400 film and television credits that Wilmington boasts – and any fans of the city of Wilmington to share their favorite Wilmington Memories using #CapeFearlessChallenge
Please help us help a town so many of us grew up in. I’ll have a video for you guys shortly with my own NC story, in the meantime, PLEASE donate! WE NEED YOU https://t.co/clk9zIHVMh
